Thevara Urban Co-Operative Society Limited is a trusted co-operative financial institution committed to serving the local community with integrity, transparency, and responsibility. Established with the objective of promoting financial inclusion and economic self-reliance, the Society has been playing a vital role in supporting individuals, families, and small businesses within its operational region.
The Society was registered as Thevara Urban Co-Operative Society Ltd No. E 784 on 19th March, and was inaugurated on 25th March. Since its inception, the Society has steadily expanded its services to meet the financial needs of the local community. The first branch at Kadavanthra was inaugurated on 09 June 1995, marking an important milestone in its growth. Later, the Society’s own building at Thevara Mattammel was inaugurated on 02 December 1995, strengthening its foundation and presence in the region.
The area of operation of the Society includes Thevara, Konthuruthy, Perumanoor, the southern part of Kadavanthra, and Elamkulam. With deep roots in these localities, the Society understands the financial needs of the community and delivers services that are practical, secure, and member-focused. Today, the Society proudly serves around 12,000 members, reflecting the strong trust and confidence placed in the institution by the public.

Founder & First President
Sri. Stephen Paduva, former MLA, was the founding force behind Thevara Urban Co-Operative Society Limited and served as its first President from 25/03/1984. His visionary leadership, commitment to co-operative principles, and dedication to community development laid a strong and enduring foundation for the Society. Through his guidance, the institution grew with stability, trust, and a people-centric approach, shaping it into a reliable financial partner for generations.
